How To Remove Yourself From Law 360

From its name, Law 360 is a leading website that contains information on legal news, analysis, court cases, documents, law firms, etc. It publishes daily alerts and newsletters to broadcast the latest reports. Their content continues to reach a large number of legal professionals–regarded worldwide as a significant resource by the largest law firms, in-house counsel at major corporations, and key decision-makers in the government sector. Law 360 is a subsidiary of LexisNexis, an American corporation that holds countless data from public records around the world–possessing a record of documents from courthouses and government agencies. Currently, it offers one of the world’s largest online database services. The majority of data in Law360.com are acquired from LexisNexis.

Law 360 and Lexis Nexis mainly obtains information from official court and public record. Their company privacy policy: “This information has been supplied to LexisNexis for publication to our clients by the public bodies concerned in the interests of upholding and protecting the rule of the law” clarifies how they secured the permission to post it on their website. On the other hand, they also receive submissions of articles, papers, journals, Op-Eds, and other types of case commentary from the legal community. Another of their policy declares: “It is for the court to decide what personal information is to remain within the records that they disclose, and the balance to be struck between the public interests in disclosure and the privacy rights of individuals.” This conveys that submissions from the legal community are subject to the author’s approval, providing that the data is valid and factual.

A negative search result from Law360.com becomes a cause of concern. Given that it is a trusted website used globally, information from them is highly taken into account. Profiles in Law360.com are listed as course-case participants. While only basic facts such as names of the parties, nature of the suit, filing dates, court location are provided online for free, full copies of the court documents are still accessible to the subscribers. This signifies that if a company wants to devolve deeper into an applicant’s record, they will have the access to do so. Furthermore, simply appearing in the search results from Law360 can already leave a bad impression on any institution or corporation. This will likely affect how an individual will be perceived despite a list of accomplishments. Hence, here is a guided instruction on how to remove search results from Law360.

1. Go to the listing on Law360.com. Highlight the URL and right-click to copy.
